Zarek’s passion for photography began at the young age of six. True to his instincts and enthusiasm, he began printing his own images by age 10, and continued to pursue it through High School. He made it his profession in 1988. Producing eye catching images, capturing pure emotions, and preserving memories is what inspires him to continue to do what he has always loved. Each situation is viewed with fresh eyes and a fresh approach.
And Then it Began…
Shortly after graduating from R.I.T. with a BFA degree in Narrative, Documentary and Editorial photography, Zarek opened his first studio in Connecticut and quickly developed a list of clients spanning Connecticut and New York. He regularly shot covers and fashion for a children’s fashion magazine, catalogues, local newspapers and headshots; and he became well known for his expertise and creativity in portraiture and weddings.
Moving to Los Angeles
In 1992 Zarek welcomed an opportunity to expand his clientele, and moved to Los Angeles . His Sherman Oaks studio quickly became one of the finest in L.A. In 2012 he opened a second studio location in Bass Lake, CA servicing the surrounding area as well as Yosemite. Photography and Video by Zarek offers a full range of services and also includes videography and digital imaging. With a keen eye and innovative techniques, Zarek travels the world photographing weddings, corporate parties, portraits, as well as specially commissioned projects. Among some of his clients are Anheuser-Busch, G.E., Elite Travel, Angelino, LA Parent, The Sherman Oaks Galleria, Valley Village, Van Nuys Airport, LA Direct Magazine, numerous celebrities, and more.
Zarek is proud to be an active member of the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce, Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce, and Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce. He is also a past president of the Sherman Oaks Chamber.
